What is Subclass 165 Visa?
Subclass 165, one of the subclasses under Business Skills Program, is for investors/business people who have an overall successful record of business or investment activities, have significant net assets, are willing to invest funds in a designated investment in Australia for 4 years and have a genuine commitment to maintain business and investment activity in Australia. This category may be sponsored by a State/Territory government, with lower level criteria applying.
Subclass 165 was closed to new applicants from 1 July 2012 but remains open for adding secondary/dependent applicants. The Business Skills Program was replaced by the Business Innovation and Investment Program (insert hyperlink to Subclass 188).
Current holder of Subclass 160 must apply for the ‘pre-1 July 2012’ permanent Business Skills visas (insert hyperlink to subclass 890, 892 and 893).
