To assist us in identifying your payment, please include the first name of the practitioner you’ve booked with. For example, if you are booked to speak with Jason Ling, Accredited Specialist (Immigration Law), the payment reference to include when you make a payment is “Jason”.
Does a credit card surcharge apply?
If you choose to make payment by way of credit card, the following surcharges will be applied to the total amount payable:
(i) EFTPOS – 30 cents for debit cards
(ii) Visa – 1.20%
(iii) MasterCard – 1.20%
(iv) AMEX – 2.75%
Surcharges are automatically applied.
What happens after a payment is made?
Include your email address to receive a copy of the payment receipt. This is referred to as the “Customer Copy Receipt”.
Send a copy of this payment receipt to the person who booked you in.
It may take a day or so for the payment to settle in our Trust account. Once it is settled, our accounts department will issue you a Trust account receipt. This receipt simply states that the payment you’ve made is held in our Trust account until our service is complete.
At this stage, your migration planning session is confirmed.
Where does the money go?
As you are making a payment before services are rendered, your money will be deposited into our Trust account.
If the migration planning session does not take place, we require a minimum of 24 hours' notice to cancel and be entitled to either a refund or keep it on credit for a later date.
Please notify us by 12 PM one day (24 hours) prior to your scheduled Migration Planning Session of any changes or cancellations. If no prior notice is given, or if notice is not provided within the minimum notice period, you will be charged a 100% cancellation fee for the missed appointment.
When is a tax invoice provided?
Upon completion of your migration planning session, a tax invoice will be sent to you confirming the completion of our service.

What if I want a written summary/advice after the Migration Planning Session (MPS) & Hourly Rates?
Following a Migration Planning Session (MPS), clients may request a written summary of the advice discussed during the MPS consultation.
Written summaries are provided as an additional service and are charged based on the time spent preparing the document. Fees are calculated according to the hourly rate of the lawyer preparing the summary.
As the scope and complexity of each matter differ, we are unable to provide a fixed fee for written summaries in advance. Clients are encouraged to enquire about the applicable hourly rate when booking their consultation.
Payment will be deposited into our Trust Account and held and dealt with in accordance with Part 7 of the Migration Agents Code of Conduct and in accordance with the Legal Profession Uniform General Rules 2015.
