Increase in Citizenship Application Fees in Effect Starting 1 July 2023

The Australian Federal Government has recently approved the Australian Citizenship Amendment (Indexation of Citizenship Application Fees) Regulations 2023.  

The legislative instrument passed on 19 June 2023, amended the Australian Citizenship Act of 2007 and increased the citizenship application fees effective by 1 July 2023. Refer to the table below:

Australian citizenship by descent (Form 118) - For applicants whose parents are Australian citizens but was born outside Australia

Australian citizenship for children adopted under full Hague Convention or bilateral arrangements (Form 1272) - For applicants adopted in accordance with the Hague Convention on Intercountry Adoption, or through a bilateral arrangement
