New Occupation on the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List

On 27 November 2020, Social Worker (ANZSCO: 272511) has been added as an 18th occupation to the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL)

This means that any person working as a social worker can have priority processing of nomination and visa applications for Subclass 482, Subclass 494, Subclass 186, and 187 visa applications

They would also be eligible for travel exemptions to travel to Australia whilst the borders are closed. Therefore, if you are a temporary or provisional visa holder who has been stuck outside of Australia you may now be able to return if you work in one of these PMSOL occupations.
