GSM State Nominated Visa Allocation Nov 2025 Updates – NSW, ACT & Others

The new 2025-26 program year brings important updates for skilled migration (General Skill Migration (GSM)) across Australian states and territories. While some states have received their final allocations, others are operating on interim numbers until the final allocation is announced. 

 

New South Wales (NSW), Australian Capital Territory (ACT) & Tasmania (TAS) Confirm Allocations

NSW has received its full skilled migration allocation for the 2025-26 program year, totalling 3,600 places. These are divided as follows: 

  • Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa: 2,100 places 

  • Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 491) visa: 1,500 places 

 

As for ACT, the ACT government has also confirmed its full skilled migration allocation for 2025-26, securing 1,600 places

  • Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa: 800 places 

  • Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 491) visa: 800 places 

 

Tasmania has also confirmed its final allocation for the 2025-26 program year, totalling 1,850 places

  • Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa: 1,200 places 

  • Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 491) visa: 650 places 

Western Australia (WA) and South Australia (SA) are Operating on an Interim Allocation 

WA has not yet announced their final allocation, but has received an additional interim allocation. This will be utilised to conduct a November 2025 invitation round. The specific number has not yet been released. 

SA is currently operating on an interim allocation for 2025-26 with an undisclosed number of places. The SA government will continue to invite applicants, including those from ROIs submitted in the 2024-25 program year. 

 

Victoria (VIC), Queensland (QLD) and Northern Territory (NT) Pending Details 

VIC, QLD and NT have yet to release details of their final or interim GSM allocations for the 2025-26 program year.
