South Australia DAMAs Extended to 30 June 2026 - Updates and Opportunities

The South Australian (SA) Designated Area Migration Agreements (DAMAs) have received an extension, now set to continue until 30 June 2026. This extension offers new opportunities to local businesses and skilled migrants looking to leverage these agreements.

What do I Need to Know for SA DAMA Extension?

  • The existing range of occupations and the age concession allowing skilled migrants up to 55 years old to apply remain the same.

  • A 10% reduction in the Temporary Skilled Migration Income Threshold (TSMIT) continues; however, there has been an increase in the TSMIT/CSIT threshold by 1 July 2025

  • Concessions for English language proficiency and prior work experience are kept at the same requirement.

  • Skills in Demand (SID) (SC482) visa holders have the pathway to permanent residency (PR) through the transition from SC482 to the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) SC186 visa after just 2 years.

  • On 1 July 2025 onwards, occupations listed on specific Industry Labour Agreements will no longer be accessible under the SA DAMA program if they are available through the Industry Labour Agreement stream

The SA Government aims to negotiate a new five-year statewide DAMA with the Commonwealth Government in the 2025-26 timeframe.
