Coming to Australia to study and attend Australian prestige universities is many individuals’ dreams. Getting a Student Visa (Subclass 500) can feel complicated and overwhelming, especially if you are doing it yourself. We have put together a document checklist as your starting guide. 

 

Student Visa (Subclass 500) Document Checklist 

Applicants must gather and prepare the documents listed below to meet the visa criteria. Below is a general guide and not limited to:

Identity documents  

  • Passport  

  • Birth Certificate 

  • National identity card 

  • Passport-sized photos (recent) 

  • Name Change Document (if applicable) 

Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE), also known as Genuine Student Requirement Statement Documents 

  • Bank Statements 

  • Business ownership documents (if applicable) 

  • Tax returns (if applicable) 

  • Employment contracts, pay slips (if currently employed) 

  • Family composition details 

  • Responsibilities for dependents (if applicable) 

  • Community involvement

Evidence of Study 

  • Academic Transcripts 

  • Evidence of English language proficiency 

  • Qualifications and Education  

  • High School, Vocational, Degree certifications  

Enrolment Details 

  • Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) 

  • Offer Letter 

Financial Capacity (Evidence of Funds) 

  • Bank Statements 

  • Scholarship letters  

  • Education loan documents 

  • Evidence of financial support from parents/sponsors 

Health and Character 

Accompanying Family Members as Dependents 

  • Identity documents 

  • Marriage Certificate (for spouse/de facto partner) and Birth Certificate (for children) 

  • Financial dependency proof for dependent children over 18 years old 

  • School enrolment for dependent children

  • OSHC, police check and health exams for each family member
