South Australia and Tasmania Issue January Invitation (Skilled Migration Update)
Both South Australia (SA) and Tasmania have released updates on their skilled migration programs, with new nomination invitations and program statistics for January 2026.
South Australia Issues January Invitations
The South Australian government has issued a significant number of invitations for both Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) visa and Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) (Subclass 491) visa in January 2026:
235 nomination invitations for the Subclass 190 visa.
109 nomination invitations for the Subclass 491 visa.
This brings the total number of invitations issued in the 2025-26 program year to:
610 invitations for the Subclass 190 visa.
321 invitations for the Subclass 461 visa.
Tasmania Continues Weekly Invitation Rounds
The Tasmanian Government continues its weekly nomination invitation updates. The latest round on 8 January 2026 has:
36 Registered of Interest (ROIs) invited for the Subclass 190 visa.
26 ROIs invited for the Subclass 491 visa.
Currently, Tasmania has the following nomination places remaining for the 2025-26 program year:
813 places are available for the Subclass 190 visa.
535 places are available for the Subclass 491 visa.
