Victoria Closes 2025-26 Skilled Migration Program to New ROI

The Victorian Government has announced that the 2025-26 state-nominated skilled visa program is now officially closed to new Registrations of Interest (ROIs). If you were planning to submit a new ROI for a Skilled Nominated (Subclass 190) or Skilled Work Regional (Subclass 491) visa this program year, you will now need to wait for the 2026-27 program to open.

  • If you have already submitted an ROI, the Victorian Government will continue to assess it against the remaining nomination places available for the current program year.

  • Applicants are advised to be cautious. If you choose to withdraw your existing ROI now, you will not be able to lodge a new one until the 2026–27 program officially opens later this year.

  • Details regarding the 2026–27 program, including updated criteria and occupation lists, will be published by the Department as soon as they become available.

As we approach the end of the migration program year, many states reach their allocation limits. While Victoria is currently closed for new entries, this is a time to ensure your skills assessment and English language tests are ready for the launch of the new financial year in July.
