Queensland Skilled Migration Program 2025-26: ROI Opens on 19 Sept 2025

Following the recent announcement from the Australian government, Queensland’s 2025-26 Skilled Migration Program is set to commence on 19 September 2025, with Registration of Interest (ROI) now open. This is a great opportunity for skilled migrants who have been eyeing opportunities in Queensland. Some key updates are:

  • Migration Queensland has secured an initial allocation of just 250 places, with the full allocation expected to be confirmed by the end of September.  

  • Candidates seeking Queensland nomination must submit a new ROI for the 2025-26 program, with only one active submission allowed at a time.

  • Keep a copy of your ROI upon submission, as Migration Queensland will not be able to provide copies afterwards.

Skilled Program Requirements Update 

  • The ongoing work requirement for onshore applicants (who currently live in Queensland) has been removed.

  • Work hour requirements have been reduced to 20 hours per week related to your nominated occupation.

  • Casual work is now accepted for Queensland work experience requirements. 

  • Settlement funds are no longer required for offshore applicants. 

Migration Queensland will conduct frequent and smaller rounds throughout the program year.
